After a challenging season, my mare has had a couple of months off from jumping. I still ride her to keep her in shape and just recently we have started jumping gymnastics again. Here is footage from one of our lessons!

I'm working on riding on shorter reins which will help me with that but the important thing is not to be pulling back.. She is big and needs support so can't really have a huge release.. thanks again!

She has a long neck and I'm just getting used to it, trying to ride with my hands a little more forward like you suggested. I started jumping about a year and a half ago on a 15.1, short necked horse. She is almost? 17 hands so trying to adjust my riding to each horse when i ride them. Thank you again!

My only concern would be maybe shorten those reins and give with your hands a little more. You have so much rein in your hand that you are forced to draw your elbows back.
