With regards to your question, out of all the horses we have broken to harness we have never had any problems caused by driving on the roads. However we ensure all our horses are shod properly for road work and we only ever do as much work as the horse is physically capable of (although this would apply to any horse in any discipline, ridden or driven, on any surface).
