(which to me is an oxymoron because all they do is harden their mouths)... lovely horse, and lovely response. Thank? you for the video.

This is me with Ted my 5yr old Gelding. We are doing free lunging (liberty circles) a bit of backing up away from me and towards me and some trot and canter transitions. This was taught using Lighten-up-Horsemans hip which involves clicker training and natural horsemanship. For more info see my site www.lighten-uphorsem anship.com.

I know it wasn't ... By: NumberTheStarsByCC. on 13 May 12, 04:33:57 I know it wasn't the best dressage, but honestly, all of you guys bad mouthing? this video, I'd like to see you do better. Pirelli is great, and it does a lot more than dressage, but I must agree, this wasn't REA,,Y
@Halfpassfarm - I ... By: ChazzieLovesHorses. on 19 Apr 12, 10:24:50 @Halfpassfarm - I totally agree - a good rider should be able to? control his horse with just his seat and legs - this parelli stuff isn't anything special, too many riders these days rely to much on their hands, which is why everyone thinks parelli is so amazing - it's not, the same results can be achieved through normal riding, if it's done well!
QUESTIONS: 1.Why ... By: animalsrawesome2. on 07 Apr 12, 03:52:38 QUESTIONS: 1.Why weren't? the horses using their backs to carry the rider for the dressage moves? Their backs looked very hollow the whole time. 2. At 2:23 his horse looks out at the audience and then O'Conner pets the side of his neck, how come these horses aren't weaving all over the place once they realize theirs nothing controling their noses?
This is so lovely ... By: rosasinclairemerson. on 20 Mar 12, 22:05:30 This is so lovely to see, I don't understand? how you can dislike it - the horse is so relaxed and happy and his movement so free!

it's not parelli ... By: Halfpassfarm. on 18 Feb 12, 23:24:12 it's not parelli training, it's dressage training. if you really learn to ride, the horse is totally controlled with the seat and legs- bridles are only used to balance the horse!? If David O'Conner had always ridden Parelli and not just hooked up with him then I would be more impressed, but his and the horses actual training is from elsewhere.

N.B Spurs are used ... By: The49thparallele. on 20 Jun 11, 11:41:05 N.B Spurs are used in the parelli program when just bringing your energy up to bring your horse forward? isn't soft enough for your horse. The spurs simulate flies on them :)
Here's the bad ... By: megalelala. on 18 Jun 11, 23:37:31 Here's the bad thing about parelli, great that he's a trainer and that he can do it, but a lot of horses will never be abl to achive that, that dosn't work for all horses. And a lot of people working with horses in thier? backyard mess the program up.
It has a bad rap for that reason.

It starts with the ... By: LazyRMark. on 16 May 12, 18:51:24 It starts with the rider having respect for the horse, for what she can do with her hooves. The horse's respect is earned. In my experience, horses are not disrespectful or disobedient. Horses which do not trust the rider or handler will reflect that in their responses and temperament; self-preservation is instinctive, ingrained withing the deepest part of their saurian brains. But horses which have learned to trust the rider will run headlong into a? forest fire, or leap of a cliff...

By: jazzy96ful. on 10 May 12, 18:07:38 Wonderful horseman, allows the horse enough attitude to have a personality so it wants to work for him? as a partnership rather than being bullied into it and becoming resentful. Its all about having trust and respect for each other. This mare loves him. Shame there are too many out there that are trying to imitate him but getting it wrong, misleading novice owners and putting them at real risk

Its the same as ... By: WoodyWV38. on 26 Jan 12, 22:08:17 Its the same as people with crazy dogs. You have to treat a horse like a? horse and what makes them treat YOU as the boss same as dogs. They are both pack/herd type social animals who need an "alpha". Thats why there so many messed up animals. people have seen 1 too many Disney cartoons and humanize them. They dont think like humans so you cant treat them as one. Thats not saying mistreat them at all. Treat them like one their own kind who is in charge.

I am in the process ... By: tulatularosa. on 19 Jan 12, 03:36:24 I am in the process of turning a rescue mule of Skippper W lineage back into a normal reacting mule , who completely broke down from a Clinton encounter. This may work with a horse, although from any equine's point of view this must seem a series? of odd tasks, but with a very intelligent mare mule it took 14 consistent months of normal requests to get her to trust a person. This video helped me understand what had caused her very odd reactions. Not every technique will work with everything
