Try doing a trail ride, practice lesson ,ect. And bring your parents along they will realise that you are willing to learn this wonderful sport! Lots of parents don't Want their child to do horse riding because they think it is not active enough! Place a horse book or magazine on the kitchen table.... Eventually they will have to read it! Good luck!!

Show them how much it means to you and be persistent about it if you show them that you are willing to commit to the class and even offer to try to help pay for it and do better in school show them that cut will benefit? both of you you'll get horseback riding and they'll get a bigger effort from you

If you can get to the canter and when you try and slow down by pulling the reins and he goes faster, try loosening the reins a small bit and lean a tiny bit back.. It's hard to get the hang of straight away but I know I've had this problem with a few horses and once you get the? hang of it it's easy :)

By: DragonHeart956. on 18 Sep 10, 17:32:16 @mpmallee and when you canter, try to sit deep. this is where stirrupless lessons come in. as hard and scary it may be, it will help you learn how to "sink" into your saddle. stirrupless lessons are what helped me the most. at the beginnging of the year, i was having so much trouble? with my seat that my trainer took my stirrups away for a month. thanks to that, i canter beautifully, with no hands touching the saddle with or without stirrups.

take some longe line lessons.
keep your legs long and heels down, it stabilizes your backside... this made the biggest difference for me in finding my seat and having it stick to the horse during the canter.
relax your back and uise you butt as a "scoop"
watch a lot of videos and? imagine yourself riding that way!
