Horses? are one of the most beautiful creatures of this world, and sure, I can understand why some people are scared of them, but the feeling of when it goes right after you have tried for like half an hour or more, even if it is just for a moment... The mane stuff is baloney -many horses have their manes "trained" as youngsters to one side or the other, and this will? last a lifetime unless the mane is roached. Horses do get one-sided, but you address this through a conditioning program, not saddle fit. Otherwise, the advice is fairly good - many people put their saddles too far forward and restrict the horse's motion.

Type in MONTURA VAQUERA and check out the Spanish stock saddle (from Spain not South America). In-built padding, no need for a blanket (can use an English one), tail strap to keep? it in place, no horn (we don't use it in Spain), one girth and always sheepskin to sit on (synthetic or natural, you choose). Just try it, I'm sure you'll like it, there is no saddle like it in the world.You can find them in the USA.

When walking behind a horse you should touch him as you're walking around him, letting him know that you are there. You should always walk closely? to the horse if you are walking behind it because if it does kick you will not catch the full force of the blow. I have owned and handled horses my whole life, never been kicked walking or standing behind one.
