When my kids are learning to ride, I'll have them wear one until they're old enough to decide if they want to keep wearing one. Besides, you hardly ever see girl barrel racing in helmets, but I don't see anyone at the rodeos complaining (and if they do, I don't hear it)

It's like driving a car without seatbelt or a motorbike without a? helmet. My brother came of his motorbike at just 15 miles per hour a rocketed nearly 150 yards down the road. It he didn't have his full leather gear on he would of ripped the skin off his arms and legs & would of been scared 4 life. He was only traveling a mile down the road but luckily took the time to put leathers on!!
