He rides great and very calm. I can move him by hand touching his sides or saying back and pulling down on the bridle but not like you. Forget getting him to longe in a circle.?

She hasn't chosen to fight, but as a kid, I was kicked in the? chest by a horse (I'm sure I asked for it), so I'm always leery now of the business end. Again, thank you for posting. The ground work I've done with her since finding your videos has made a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE in our relationship already!

You are right - horses have to choose how to respond from pressure. They can either respond positively, in the way that the handler is asking, or negatively, which would be to resist the pressure or fight it. If you are uncomfortable working with a horse on certain training methods, you might look for a horse trainer in your area that can help you with this process.

As a kid, I spent a lot of time around horses, but never learned proper techniques. My question here, though, is how are you so sure the horse isn't going to kick you when you start? asking her to shift her hind end? She has a choice to make, and it seems like you're within striking distance if she were so inclined.
