(neck flexing) naturally. My horse does it all the time, and I've never taught her to do that.We are simply asking the horses to use their muscles. It's like....the horse version of ballet.I did ballet, and it stretched muscles that I'd never used before, and probably shouldn't be used.Does that mean I didn't like it?No I loved ballet. It is the same way with the horses. They are using muscles that they already have. This is a horrible version of dressage I might add.

This is such a bad ... By: drgnfr. on 29 Jun 11, 21:35:21 This is such a bad imitation of "classical horsemanship" (as 'modern' people like to call it). These are bad circus tricks that have nothing to do with the merits of true dressage.
These horses lack harmony and energy in their moves: they are contrived rather than natural. The? passage in the beginning is completely disordered. Clearly that poor horse is asked to give more than it is physical developed to and than it would have properly (and patiently) been taught to.

There is a ... By: wren71. on 08 Apr 11, 20:48:05 There is a difference between a horse swishing its tail and whipping its tail... Not to mention that if a horse is swishing its tail in pain, fear, or anger? you will also see their ears pinned back... It is very easy to tell (for those who are used to it) in a horse's expression when they are being mis-treated.
In addition a horse traine through fear will never attain this level of mastery... this is high level stuff going on here.
Woww, a horse? ... By: XXPrincessIzzieXX. on 20 Mar 11, 22:13:03 Woww, a horse? flicking it's tail doesnt mean its in pain nor does it mean its crying out! does that horse have its earse pineed? A horse flicking ... By: pinkluwink. on 15 Mar 11, 20:07:08 A horse flicking its tail is a horse that? is irritated, there is no arguing with that. It really annoys me when people insist that flicking it's tail is a way of (insert excuse here, such as keeping tempo, showing enthusiasm etc). Horses don't think like that, they simply react to what's going on around them.

If a horse swishes its tail its not obligated to mean that its mad or in pain, fear, ect. for crying out loud. THE HORSE IS DANCING. Some horses just do it! If they were mistreated they wouldn't be looking so good. If you look at some other dressage videos you'll see horses acting the same way, bu they are happy. And why could you buy a 80-150 thousand dollar horse and mistreat it?

Everytime someone ... By: charuk2005. on 04 Jan 11, 11:45:29 Everytime someone says it's cruel others say: well if it's cruel why does the horse do it. Because a horse CAN PERFORM BY THE FEAR? OF PAIN AND PUNISHMENT! That's why now and then those horses can act all of a sudden hyper active and try to buck or try to escape. You can see clearly that the horses don't like it because of their body language. If you can do this without all the tack, bits and whips and pressure then the horse can choose at liberty. See Haute Ecole Nevzorov.

@ManeNTailFarm2004 ... By: slimingmywaytoheaven. on 18 Mar 11, 07:51:47 @ManeNTailFarm2004 : It's a variant on riding style and technique. In my experience, hyperflexion tends to be more Germanic, and recent styles lean heavily towards less flexion. Flexing rings the horse underneath and tends to round the back. But hyperflexion hinders the ability to see forwards, and can make a horse strain against the bit. This goes against principles of English riding,? where give to the bit is desired. Many also consider it to be traumatizing for the horse. Look up Rollkur. :)

By: TheCollectedCanine. on 19 Jan 11, 04:20:08 @TheMoyse While it's true that Natural Horsemanship does use pressure in the forms of negative reinforcement and positive punishment, not all training involves force or elicitation. You can capture and/or shape behaviors by waiting for the animal to offer that behavior on his/her own and then give the animal a reinforcer. Most trainers that use this method are clicker trainers and animal behaviorists (as in research scientists, not people that label themselves as behaviorists).?

This is a beautiful ... By: ebaravik. on 24 Sep 10, 23:32:58 This is a beautiful example of resistance-free riding. This horse appears well conditioned for his work--in? both body and mind. He is relaxed and happy yet animated and responsive. His topline show proper dressage training rather than forced positioning to get results. Thank you for proving that classical dressage requires no bridle, no saddle, and no rollkur. Pretty boy.
Even horses @ play ... By: jett888. on 17 Sep 10, 21:08:50 Even horses @ play and at Libety, request something from? each other. You'll see the dominant horse always asking the other to move his feet- I don't think the horses thinks the same about it as we do- Fullfillment may be different than happiness, but either way you can see if a horse is happy in his surroundings- this is a relationship that each one is obviously willing to give to the other- beautifull!!

By: speakingspudmuffin. on 30 Jan 12, 18:49:31
@pjproudify They swish their tails because they're happy and they foam at the mouth because they are accepting the bit, which gives a soft? mouth, foaming is a very good thing, shows the horse is listening:)

mr duje: Riding is the hardest sport ever! You need to control youself and a horse to! I have self riding in more then 5 years!? I cant do that what Andreas Helgstrand doe's. Not even a little bit of it! Tag den!!!!! Danske Andreas hellgstrand styrer!

@mrduje try riding a horse before you open your mouth. you'd be amazed at how hard it is. I haven't gotten bucked off yet, but i've come close many, many times. these horses- even the ones who are old or have had the best of training- can spook and throw a rider. one little mistake in a jumping competion has cost alot of people their lives. even though this is dressage, just one wrong move could make you loose the round?
By: Animaluver1612. on 25 Jan 12, 21:41:20

@mrduje Try? teaching a horse to walk to the beat of a song, and then try ridding it while it does so without tilting in any random direction.
