@jjandcm1 It is ... By: ashleynugent. on 07 Jan 12, 12:21:53 @jjandcm1 It is done differently, I played polo in college so I do have a lot of experience. When wrapping in polo we start right under the knee angled? down at 45 degrees angle leaving a tail of about 8 inches, wrap all the way down the tendon (leaving out the 8 inch tail) and when you get down to the bottom you place your 8 inch tail down flat over the back of the tendon, wrap back up to where you started. This provides double support. Do your research next time before you run your mouth...

By: 4x4Girl14. on 29 Dec 11, 04:36:02 @127HunterJumper Yeah I agree, standing wraps with no bows/quilts for trailering and polos for riding ;) I would never use polos for trailering (especially for a long trip) cause they cut off circulation much quicker than standing wraps with a quilt and? don't offer nearly as much protection
@lschuttem Polo? ... By: 127HunterJumper. on 28 Dec 11, 05:55:00 @lschuttem Polo? wraps support the tendons. Umm, I would use standing wraps and the quilted no bow wraps for trailering. They are more padded in case of bumps while on the trailer. Polo wraps can be used for any type of riding, because they are for protection.

The only thing bad ... By: ShowJumper1010. on 20 Jun 11, 06:20:28 The only thing bad about polo raps really is who is rapping them. If too many different people rap the same horses legs, the horses legs could get tendon sore. When a horse gets tendon sore they don't even want to put weight on the leg that is sore. This can be very serious for a horse but can be prevented by ether only rapping? the polos yourself or using boots instead. If you are jumping make sure to use open front boots otherwise you could constrict the movement in the leg.

But if they didn't like the work who cares about how well groomed and housed they are? horses preffer rain and dirty coats to being locked all day. They don't know what euros or dollars are. What matters is that these horses are trained properly and have an interesning "job". else all the money in the world wouldn't matter.

By: DJBelbe. on 02 Dec 11, 02:06:46 @fire44raven hahaha! used to hate it too till I tried working on long reins with a long fluffy tailed horse (Lusitano stallions usually have lots of tail and mane). I've seen the stallions at my yard perform every single one of those movements wile play/fighting each other or when showing off to mares. My own stallion is particularly? keen on the piaffe when I tell him he can't chase the mares that cross us on trails and an older stallion is fond of the courbette and capriole when playing tag with me.

Such movements? get the horse pretty excited, it's hard enough to get them as quiet and disciplinated as you see! Remmember these are all stallions. I for have have a stallion who gets all pumped up just by doing the spanish walk! If I asked him a capriole he'd explode jumping around like a gazelle, LOL!
@horseisbeauty yup, ... By: DJBelbe. on 02 Dec 11, 01:54:25 @horseisbeauty yup, horses on at? least 2 of these schools work soundly untill they are 30! If that's not a good health program i dunno what is.
I confess some of them look a tad annoyed at times and a couple appear too submissive for my taste, but none looks fearful of abused.
I've personally seen the Lusitanos being trained at the shade of trees back home and all you could hear were the birds and the hooves. Both horse and handler were as peaceful and quiet as you'll ever see.

The art of dressage ... By: simpsondesign. on 16 Feb 11, 20:56:48 The art of dressage is an art form that requires communication and commitment on the part of the horse as well as the rider. No horse is going to perform in the relaxed manner that you see on this video if they are being abused. Horses understand the touch of the whip telling them to activate? certain parts of their body because my arm is just not that long for me to touch their hind leg or quarters to ask them to bring it more under their body to lighten the forehand.

By: lassiesuca. on 31 Dec 09, 13:10:43 hmm, I really enjoy classical riding and training of the horse, but I do agree to an extent the fact that it isn't natural- but then what is for a horse? today? I would love to train my horses classically when I'm older but keep them as natural as possible. I do think this is much better than the keeping of Grand Prix dressage horses and showjumpers, but that is my take on it.

@jjandcm1 It is done differently, I played polo in college so I do have a lot of experience.

@127HunterJumper Yeah I agree, standing wraps with no bows/quilts for trailering and polos for riding ;) I would never use polos for trailering (especially for a long trip) cause they cut off circulation much quicker than standing wraps with a quilt and? don't offer nearly as much protection

@lschuttem Polo? wraps support the tendons. Umm, I would use standing wraps and the quilted no bow wraps for trailering. They are more padded in case of bumps while on the trailer. Polo wraps can be used for any type of riding, because they are for protection.

@despondentmemories yeah but did that horse really look like he cared? and yeah ik ik he could have spooked but they used him for a reason so im sure they knew he wouldnt move when they were demonstrating and really? Kick? her? he was falling a sleep! (not tryin to be rude)
By: despondentmemories. on 10 Dec 11, 01:11:48
She shouldn't have kneeled next to the? horse. It's a good thing that horse didn't spook and/or kick her.

Polo wraps are made? of fleece material.
By: 123itsIndy. on 30 Nov 11, 02:47:32
what are polo wraps made of?
By: EQNeightion. on 28 Nov 11, 16:56:27
You would use polo wraps while exercising your horse, no matter what discipline. You can also use boots, but polo wraps support the tendons better. You should use standing bandages and pillow wraps for? shipping in the trailer, and we have a video for that as well!
By: lschuttem. on 28 Nov 11, 00:12:58
what do you use polo wraps for? would they provide sufficient protection for? trailering? or you use them while riding? (and for what riding?)

i always liked polo's better? than boots... cuz you can have as many different colours as youd like :) but for rainy days...boots are deffinatly more fun, i HATE washing wraps xD
By: Lexthelime. on 06 Aug 11, 03:09:37
I always use splint boots :) but polos are good too I am going to get SMB boots soon:)?
By: amieHERSELF. on 01 Aug 11, 09:08:02

By: Sargepony. on 14 Jul 11, 18:34:53
@EQNeightion you're absolutely correct. I am so sick of seeing horses at shows that are wrapped in the wrong direction. Learn to do it properly, or buy boots. ?
By: spashley971. on 26 Jun 11, 04:27:26
@wh0reship? thanks :)
By: wh0reship. on 25 Jun 11, 20:01:13
@spashley971 yeah definetly go with pony polos! And they're? fine for jumping smaller fences. Studies have proven they provide 1% support while SMB (sports medicine boots) provide 7%
By: lennistreet. on 20 Jun 11, 17:33:36
lol the ones i do always look too bulkey? t the top but thats just bc the wraps are probably too long. :( i always get confused with what direction to go... sooo i just use tendon boots :D lol
By: ShowJumper1010. on 20 Jun 11, 06:20:28
The only thing bad about polo raps really is who is rapping them.
