show jumping is timed, and it doesnt matter what you look like. she just want to be the fastest, whithout any poles knocked down.

But then again, I don't know how the other top riders did, they could have had more or bigger mistakes..

But they live in a stable, all winter, and go in some fields in summer, the rest of that time is in training, they never hack out as they're seen as 'dangerous' horses on the roads and there hack out is a 'horse-walker' which is basically someone that walks them round a school, nice life - all they see is 4 walls and sand underneath them! :) So i agree!

The big black hunter before him is Chagall and he's also at my barn and I got to show him in November. They are both extremely talented horses, but I can tell you they didn't become that way overnight, a lot of hard work and training has been put into both horses and even though they may be "push-button" they aren't robots, they are horses. Nice video!!

The EQ is just different. And the reason these horses are long and low is because that's hunters. Hunter over fences horses are not long and low because they would have a very hard time getting over a fence. The reason you see QH's looking 'frumpy', is because that's the wanted look for a WP horse, and they are trained that way.

show jumping you race around a similar type course taking the sharpest turns you can and trying to beat the clock and you could look like hell for all anyone cares. equitation is much more precise and judges the riders form on the flat and over jumps. the horse is also supposed to be in a certain frame and you need to be getting the correct number of strides down the lines and get your take off distances perfectly

equitation is judged on how well you look. like, i guess you could say there are certain rules to follow, on how you should look on the horse. basically, it judges on how well you handle your horse, and if you can look good, and completely under controll the whole time. its just a rider trying to make a course of jumps look easy. show jumping is timed, and it doesnt matter what you look like. she just want to be the fastest, whithout any poles knocked down.
