Also having a calm, slow horse with smooth paces and a fenced arena will also help because if you are scared if the horse running off, there`s nowhere for it to go.Try to keep a good position, bum in the saddle, don`t hang onto the mouth.
Don`t worry too much.The canter is heaps smoother than the trot, so if you are good at that you will have no problems at all!? Good luck! :D

hold on to the pommel of the saddle if you need to.
