Gymnastic jumping exercises are great for teaching both the horse and rider accuracy, rhythm, and balance without interference from one another. These exercises allow the rider to work on his or her form in a controlled setting, and also allow the horse to do the same.

Support the horse with? the a firm connection with the outside rein as you change direction. The outside rein is the balancing rein and is key to keeping your horse straight and balanced. Stay still with your upper body. Remember, Perfect Practice Makes Perfect, and be patient with yourself and your horse. Send a video if you can!

It is hard to ... By: EQNeightion. on 07 Mar 12, 01:46:47 It is hard to recommend a pad without seeing your pony with a saddle? on it. The height of the wither and the width of your pony's back will dictate which pad is best for your stated purpose: to provide comfort to your pony's back or to provide lift to the saddle. Gel pads give cushion but no lift. Risers give lift. Best to consult with your local tack store.

No, the saddle pad ... By: Inkbunneh. on 05 Dec 11, 07:40:40 No, the saddle pad is made to protect the saddle (at least when it comes to english saddles), so the leather & the wool (if it's stuffed with wool that is) won't get ruined by the sweat, salt isn't very good for the leather & it can make? the wool lumpy, but a saddle pad is not needed for the horses sake, only for the saddle (then one can always discuss what is more comfortable for the horse if it's a hot day and it gets all sweaty, slippery leather or wet fabric?)

I've always thought most pads provided support for the horses back of some sort however the people in this topic said things like "you shouldnt need a pad as long as your saddle? fits correctly all they are for is to protect your saddle from sweat." However I watch this video and it goes more towards the support side. ????

If you are someone like me who does not likeing tendons being rubbed or feel pain and swelling from them... make sure these gloves or others don't sit where they can rub on them!

Your horse learns from both ways, seeing the left and right brain arent connected. Its always good for a horse to be well? rounded. They learn one way on the left side. Then another way on the right side. I mount from the right side nd the left side. and I tack up from the right side and left side.

Very good question. ... By: EQNeightion. on 07 Nov 11, 23:23:01 Very good question. You slide your finger very slowly over the lips of your horse's mouth, at the crease, and gently make him smile so you can get your finger back? to the point where there are no teeth. If you can make him smile, then gently press down to touch the gum, they generally will open their mouths. Their teeth don't go back as far as you think.

It is proper to ... By: EQNeightion. on 22 Apr 11, 14:58:19 It is proper to always leave the reins over your horse's head while unbridling and putting on a halter for this very reason. Many people also untack in a stall, or have someone? help them. Anticipating that your horse will run is wise, so you can take all steps to head him off at the proverbial pass. He may start to change his behavior if he never has the opportunity to run. Don't ever give him this opportunity, and over time, you can change his behavior.

Here is another Equestrian Neightion video showing how to untack a horse. You would untack a horse or pony in the inverse order of how you tacked up: take off the bridle first, then the saddle. Safety first! Make sure you are in a cross tie area or a stall to ensure a safe environment for yourself and your horse.

By: EQNeightion. on 19 Nov 10, 02:28:55
Standing bandages alone don't really serve a purpose. Pillow wraps provide protection and support after a hard workout, or for when a horse travels in a trailer. Polo wraps can be used for support while exercising your horse, but you would not use standing wraps? alone to exercise your horse.
