In a way you are right. true there is Only One Depeche Mode. In a way all music as it evolves is a rip off from older generation of music.
Its not a bad thing. Not at all.

I played piano when I was younger and felt bored of it, so I picked up the violin.

Since I already knew the fingering, I tried to learn violin. Wow! Although I played the notes and pitches correctly, I could not get the bow thing. Foreign! And, after just one stroke of the bow, my cats learned that when I picked up the violin to practice, it was time to disappear. They both ran for cover under the bed as far from the horrifying sound as they could get! :)

By: godsmack1985. on 05 Mar 10, 07:06:06 piano is easer to learn the baics because all of the notes are layed out, and is thus very linear whereas the guitar, violin etc. are harder to learn the basics because of their overlaping notes and hitting piano keys is more natural than pressing down strings (but stringed instruments tend to be easier to pick up, if you forgot your spinach) I personaly prefer stringed instruments because i have devoted more time to them, but to each his own.
