In Australia there is a great reluctance amongst doctors to acknowledge hypoglycaemia as an actual condition unless you're diabetic and your meds aren't correct or you're an athlete that doesn't eat enough.
I've been hypyglycaemic my whole life as was my mother, her sisters and a number of my cousins, so we're our own support network and can help each other, but we get nothing from our doctors. It sucks!

My sugar is ok in the morning and after eating but once it was only 22 and somehow I was conscious. If I don't eat often I think it goes really down. The problem is that eating sugar or even glucose tables doesn't help to get rid of symptoms right away. I think I feel even worse. I need to get home, turn the heater on eat a big meal and only 1-2 hours later I start feeling better.

Hey, how are you? : ... By: wasdom01. on 07 Dec 09, 10:43:22 Hey, how are you? :) I've never had that happen to me, I''ve just commented on a few videos where it has. You are correct that it is in everyones best interests - mostly our own - to wear a medic alert bracelet. However, the sweating and other tell-tale signs (different for different people) should be enough to stop cops from treating people having hypos like criminals...unless of course they're low because they're robbing a bank ;-D.
WOW sorry that ... By: mepammy. on 07 Dec 09, 09:45:25 WOW sorry that happened to you. I've never had that happen but wish people wouldn't get mad, yell at me and PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH ME when I'm having a hypoglycemic attack. We need to be wearing medical alert bracelets.
There are doctors ... By: lifoest. on 27 Nov 09, 00:52:43 There are doctors who do not believe in hypoglycemia that is not caused by Diabetes medications? Where did these people go to med school? That's messed up. You can easily TEST for the condition, and can die from it in severe cases. No wonder there is so much misinformation among the general population about this. It does not making living with it any easier.

Short and sweet.

i never realized it ... By: 300sooks. on 21 Nov 09, 09:33:15 i never realized it was my blood sugar. I literally went through hellmy high school yr. Incredible anxiety, shakiness, and weight loss. I was incredibly malnurished and would exercise a lot on top of that. I didn't go into a coma but it seems i have inflicted brain damage through all the drugs I have been taking to relieve symptoms. Absolutely terrible. My blood sugar level will drop or increase by 20 in 30-45 min being so sever i can't see straight

This is the wrong advice to give. Read Carlton Fredericks and other real experts. By following her advice, the cycle is ever getting bigger and making the condition worse. How can someone post a video like this??

I can have a blood sugar of 25 and still function like a normal human being. How is this possible?

@lifoest In Australia there is a great reluctance amongst doctors to acknowledge hypoglycaemia as an actual condition unless you're diabetic and your meds aren't correct or you're an athlete that doesn't eat enough. I've been hypyglycaemic my whole life as was my mother, her sisters and a number of my cousins, so we're our own support network and can help each other, but we get nothing from our doctors. It sucks!

I think I have something like this but not sure yet.

:) I've never had that happen to me, I''ve just commented on a few videos where it has. You are correct that it is in everyones best interests - mostly our own - to wear a medic alert bracelet. However, the sweating and other tell-tale signs (different for different people) should be enough to stop cops from treating people having hypos like criminals...unless of course they're low because they're robbing a bank ;-D.

WOW sorry that happened to you. I've never had that happen but wish people wouldn't get mad, yell at me and PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH ME when I'm having a hypoglycemic attack. We need to be wearing medical alert bracelets.

There are doctors who do not believe in hypoglycemia that is not caused by Diabetes medications? Where did these people go to med school? That's messed up. You can easily TEST for the condition, and can die from it in severe cases. No wonder there is so much misinformation among the general population about this. It does not making living with it any easier.

I fight hypoglycemia and I'm not diabetic. I hate that all information is related to diabetes. I had a endoscopy done testing for issues related to colitis and a tumor was found in the duodenum. CT scan shows possible insulinoma. I can't find any good help on any web site or group.

Nice little video. I'll be sure to refer to this in some of my battles to convince rednecks that people having hypo's shouldn't have a taser used on them just because they're 'apparently drunk', 'un-responsive' or 'beligerant'. Short and sweet.
