I am Hypoglycemic ... By: TheMatattack06. on 04 Sep 11, 05:03:44 I am Hypoglycemic but, do not have diabetes. I have a family passed trait of hypoglycemia. I was diagnosed at? 2 years old when i passed out. I went to 2 different hospitals trying to figure out what its was. Do you know how you can get hypoglycemia when u dont have diabetes?
@FredMayX2 Diabetes ... By: HrapovikPlush. on 28 Jul 11, 04:46:49 @FredMayX2 Diabetes is preceded by hypoglycemia. If you eat a lot of processed sugar, refined carbs, fats, and unheathy sources of protein, your blood sugar rises which makes your body produce a lot of insulin (too? much) which creates extreme spikes and drops in blood sugar levels. This is hypoglycemia. Eventually, insulin receptors are worn out and cant produce insulin which causes diabetes.

I'm disturbed by ... By: boredino. on 24 Feb 11, 12:08:36 I'm disturbed by the information in this? video. Not any sugary drink will help when experiencing hypoglycemia (low blood glucose level) - it needs to have glucose in it like lucozade. Drinks containing glucose are faster absored by the system, as apposed to glucose rich foods like bananas. There are different types of sugar eg, sucrose, fructose, glucose that have different effects in the blood stream.

What 25?
If your blood sugar levels ever get lower than 70mg/dl, you may be in danger.
If you mean that your blood glucose levels were 25mg/dl..then you should be dead by now? =)

In Australia there is a great reluctance amongst doctors to acknowledge hypoglycaemia as an actual condition unless you're diabetic and your meds aren't correct or you're an athlete that? doesn't eat enough.
I've been hypyglycaemic my whole life as was my mother, her sisters and a number of my cousins, so we're our own support network and can help each other, but we get nothing from our doctors. It sucks!

My sugar is ok in the morning and after eating but once it was? only 22 and somehow I was conscious. If I don't eat often I think it goes really down. The problem is that eating sugar or even glucose tables doesn't help to get rid of symptoms right away. I think I feel even worse. I need to get home, turn the heater on eat a big meal and only 1-2 hours later I start feeling better.
